Tereasa “Terry” SZATKO

WARD 1 Candidate

I want to see and help our community grow. I’d like to maintain our status as a “Tree City” in our residential areas, while also helping our businesses grow and expand. As their success is our success.

WARD 1

Resident of Wood Dale for over 30 years. I love our community and have raised my children here. I have served our community and residents for over 18 years working with the Wood Dale Police Dept. as a Community Service Officer. During this time, I’ve had the privilege to meet some great people and business owners. I want to see and help our community grow. I’d like to maintain our status as a “Tree City” in our residential areas, while also helping our businesses grow and expand. As their success is our success. One of my first goals is to help bring our cities financial status back to little or no debt. In the event of another recession, I’d like our City to be prepared to maintain financial security. I don’t want to see our residential areas disrupted by putting in through streets from the north industrial area to Oak Meadows Dr., creating a direct access to Rt. 83. I believe this would be detrimental to our quiet neighborhood, let alone the disruption caused to our wildlife in our area. It would have the same effect as adding a zip line in our community. There is no need for this kind of disruption to our ward! We now have an all male voting Council. We need to have women involved in decision making for our City. I want to meet and talk to as many residents as I possibly can to find out what matters most to you. Being on the Council means I am YOUR voice. I live in the same community and experience many of the same issues that concern you. I want to determine what’s most important to you and our ward and work to improve our beautiful neighborhood. I look forward to talking with you. Please feel free to email me with questions or suggestions. I will make myself available and I WILL LISTEN!

TROTTO

WARD 2 Candidate

I pledge to make our City more responsive to our residents and businesses, and I welcome all residents and businesses of this great City to my office to discuss their concerns and issues.

WARD 2

Resident of Wood Dale 33 years, married to Jane 33 years, three children, all attended Wood Dale schools. Operated a law office and real estate brokerage out of Wood Dale since 2003. Son Joe helps in running the real estate office. Have worked closely with prior administrations to rehab my office and home on Irving Park Road. City Fees have risen dramatically and the City is using the Administrative Adjudication Department to beat down and bully our residents and businesses. I will do my best to insure the City respects its citizens and businesses and to get this City out of debt. The current administration has surrendered much of its powers to the whim of the Community Development Department and the City Attorney. My campaign will focus on these issues.

I pledge to make our City more responsive to our residents and businesses, and I welcome all residents and businesses of this great City to my office to discuss their concerns and issues.

WARD 3 Candidate

Family and community are very important to me and I believe that friends are the family you choose. I understand the challenges and concerns faced by families everyday.
As my young family grows, it is important for me that we are involved and give back to the community that gives so much to us.

WARD 3

I am running for Alderman of Ward 3 because I do care and would like to see Wood Dale be a strong, safe and productive community. My family and I moved here to Wood Dale when I was 7 years old. I am from a conservative, honest, hard working family that has always led by example. I have been working hard in manufacturing, my own business, and currently at the Forest Preserve District of Dupage County. My education is in Biomedical Engineering certification, supervision, organized leadership, and Entrepreneurship. I have been married for 15 years to my wife Vicki and we have three children. Nik is 14, Marko is 12, and Emilia is 10. Family and community are very important to me and I believe that friends are the family you choose. I understand the challenges and concerns faced by families everyday.

As my young family grows, it is important for me that we are involved and give back to the community that gives so much to us. We have been involved in the local swim team for many years and I have served as a Certified Timer and Judge. I have also coached U6, U8, U10, and U12 soccer. We have also supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for many years!

Let’s talk tough subjects! Flooding, Water Rates, Budget, let’s not allow this administration to continue ignoring our concerns! We MUST make a stand together. Unlike my opponent I am a homeowner and understand homeowner worries!
